Welcome to Greenmount Compost Factory!
Greenmount Compost Factory (GCF) is a membership-based community composting program located just south of historic Greenmount Cemetery in East Baltimore's Johnston Square neighborhood. Our GCF program is designed with the following three goals in mind: (1) to help improve local soil quality, (2) to help divert volume from the traditional waste stream, and (3) to help build community wealth in Johnston Square. 50% of the revenue generated through our GCF program is shared with our gracious hosts, the Re-Build Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization.
Two types of GCF membership: Pick-up and Drop-off!
Pick-up Membership ($25/month): Just like municipal trash and recycling service, simply place your GCF compost bucket full of compostable materials out in front of your house every Tuesday morning and we'll come by and swap it out with a fresh, clean bucket to use the following week.
Drop-off Membership ($10/month): Visit our lovely GCF facility at your convenience to drop off your bucket full of compostable material and take a fresh, clean bucket home with you.

East Baltimore Neighbors (blue area of map): Receive a 40% discount on standard pricing! ($15 for Pick-up and $6 for Drop-off.)
Johnston Square Residents (red area of map): Receive their first year of GCF membership completely free! (Johnston Square residents will participate as Pick-up members during their complimentary first year.)
*all new members will be charged an additional one-time deposit of $5 at sign-up to cover material expenses.
